2. Computer Aided design¶
This week I worked on 2D and 3D softwares, and I tried to improve my previous knowledge, remember how to use them and try new programs that I have not used before.
Inkscape¶
Inkscape will be the best choice for beginners or hobbyist.Inkscape is a Free and open source vector graphics editor for GNU/Linux, Windows and MacOS X. It offers a rich set of features and is widely used for both artistic and technical illustrations such as cartoons, clip art, logos, typography, diagramming and flowcharting.

The following figure shows my first test in changing colors and draw different shapes, and try to get the using shapes for the simple car and changing the colors of the shapes by different effects.
The following figure shows the first sketch that I made;
The Yellow highlights are the used tools for the sketch.
The following figure shows the path effects that I was trying to discovered, then I add the ‘SKETCH effect’ on my drawing.
Code Example¶
When I used the shortcut, it seems too easy to control with the software, such as;
- (CTRL+A) = selected all
- (CTRL+G) = Group selected objects
- (CTRL+Z) = Undo
Solidwork¶
Used to develop mechatronics systems from beginning to end. At the initial stage, the software is used for planning, visual ideation, modeling, feasibility assessment, prototyping, and project management. The software is then used for design and building of mechanical, electrical, and software elements.
It could be used for 2D drawings and D drawings.

The following figure shows the 3D sketch which starts with 2D then convert it to 3D.
Fusion 360¶
Fusion 360 is an excellent tool for the precise modeling of 2D and 3D objects, but you can do much more with it, such as animate your designs, render objects, simulate loads, and even prepare models for CNC machining>
I made a random sketch then I used extrude tool to have a random 3d object:
And i tried a new features in Fusion called (Voronoi sketch generator)
And i apply it on a rectangular sheet
