8. Input/Output devices

There are many difference between input devices and output devices from the microcontroller, the following picture shows examples of each type.

Input devices

is a piece of equipment used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer or information appliance.

Available input devices: Botton, push botton, sensors and switchs.

Output devices

A microcontroller can take actions in the world by changing the voltages of its output pins. Output pins typically take on two discrete voltages (usually 0 and 5 volts). Each output pin reflects the value of some bit in the microcontroller’s memory.

Available output devices: Buzzers, servo, indicators, motors and LCD displays.
