Week03 Project Fence¶
Theory Of Shadow For Fence/Border¶
we did require to get accurate results of how the height of the fence is required to be in order to be able to shadow the LDR’s when the sun in Bahrain is at the noon angle(87.5) which is going to be at summer in noon.
Design Of System After Adding Gears¶
In order to provide our system with y-axis motion, it was required to add gear into the system, after creating the design, the components that are most required are mentioned in the image below, note that the electronic devices (Arduino/wires/breadboards) are in the box with the gears. Components of the Design:- 1. mirror 2. stand 3. 4 LDR’s 4. Fence (separating LDRs) 5. servo motor 6. Gear 7. motor that supports y-axis rotation 8. screw 9. nut
Motors That Support¶
looking into the new system made to support the y-axis rotation, a look into the available motors that can support our system is necessary, the motors that are available are:- 1. micro servo motor (RT) 2. servo motor 3. Step motor 4. DC motors (DNS) 5. Round DC motors (DNS) DNS = Does not Support, RT = requires test
You can find images of the motors and the servo motors horns that can be used in the images below.
LDR Programming using Arduino¶
My Teammate Zainab did work on programming LDR’s for our prototype’s motion in x-axis(up and down) in reality and y-axis(right and left) and their connection in a program, please refer to her page for more information about it.
Foresight¶
- Adjusting the LDR movement so that it stops moving if it does not receive light instead of returning into origin.
- Cutting acrylic using laser to create Gears.
- Creating a 3D Design that features the update mentioned and has the LDR Fence
