PUMP¶
Our project is an open source bio instrument (peristaltic pump) that can be used in varaity of applications. The types of fluids that will give accurate results while using our pump must have a close viscosity of that of water and thats because out testing was mainly based on water. This documentation will contain all the necessary data that you’ll need as a reference to our work.
Design¶
For our simple design we used the software Fusion360. Our design consist of 2 main parts and it was inspiered by a previous design that’ll be linked below , and it was improved to satisfy our needs:
The first part is the body which was the easiest part to design:
step1: I first started by drawing the outer case with the following dimenssions Base-95mm Back height-100mm front height-68mm
step2: extrude the sketch to a dimenssion of 170mm
step3: use the shell properity and choose the thickness of the walls to be 3mm
step4: measure the electronic instrments using a caliber

step5: add to each dimentions 1mm because the 3D printer has an error percentage
step6: add them to the face of the pump
step7: extrude them down to the thickness of the face
step8: use fillet on the edges

Testing¶
Our first tesing was using a DC motor and a design from an outer rsource click o the the following to go to the websiteldesign file
throughout this process tested diffirent types of pipes that gave diffirent results. the pipe that gave the best results was this silione fish tank pipe
unfortunatlly during this testing period we made a mistake of supplying the volt DC Motor a
our second testing was also using a design from an outer resource [click o the the following to go to the websiteldesign file] unfortunatly the design was hard and not moving even after adding grease
Our third testing was for our final design , before that we made a mistake of not arranging the wires so it was hard to fit them inside that we had to remove everything and start again.
Another thing is that w faced a problem with the steppter motor so we had to change it to DC motor a change the desin as well
