2. Computer Aided design¶
This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.
CUTTEL¶
Important steps¶
1- Sign up in cuttel
2- Click on new project
3- Drag highlighted element
4- Change Dimentions
5- Use Stencil Font
6- Type Abdulla
7- Click on Boolean Union (Weld)

Evaluation¶
I use Cuttel as 2D designe software.
Advantages: It is accessible for both beginners and experienced designers, it is a website so there’s no need to download it, and it is totally free and easy to use.
Disadvantages: It has limited features, is limited to 5 projects per user, and has no offline version.”
Inkscape¶
steps¶
- In the beginning, I chose to draw a 2D face using Inkscape.
1- I drew a square by using the shapes in the left side and then change the color.
2-Then I drew the nose in the shape of a rectangle.
3-Then I chose the circular shape from the list on the left to draw the eyes.
4-Choose the rectangular shape and change the color to white to draw the mouth.
5-Add black color to show the teeth.
6-Change the color of the bottom to red to show the tongue.
7-Shading the top to show the hair.
Fusion 360¶
Important steps¶
1-Select the dimensions
2- make the plate Select the dimensions
3-Add small hollow cylinders
4- next step
5- copy the cylinders
6- copy the whole part
Preview¶
Evaluation¶
I use Fusion 360 as 3D designe software.
Advantages: has complex tools for experienced designer, it is a free downloadable software
Disadvantages: very hard to learn at the begining. The labtop lagging because of it.
Solidworks¶
The steps¶
1- First draw circles.
2- Then change the dimensions.
3- Then select the option extrude.
4- After that I drew the tooth of the gear.then copy the tooth and add it around the circle.
5- The final design.
