3D printer and scanning

This week I mainly worked in a 3D printer, starting from designing 3D design going to physical result. I also learn how to scan any physical object as a digital 3D representation.

Week07

I was waiting for this week for a long time! I am very interested in trying a 3D printer machine, but when it came I was confused what to do.
There are three assignments in this week:

  • Group assignment: Search about 3D printing and compare between two types of printer to see how do they work and the better options depending on speed and quality.
  • Individual assignment: Work on my own design to be printed.
  • Individual assignment: Scan any physical object's size and shape as a digital 3D representation.

    Task 1 - Group assignment

    To search about 3D printing then test and compare between the different 3D printers at fablab a printing test was done. The comparison was between Ultimaker 2+ and creality. The details of the assignment are here & here.

    The process of transferring the dimensions and form of a physical thing into a digital three-dimensional representation on a computer is known as 3D scanning. 3D scanners can quickly create extremely precise point clouds by measuring minute features and capturing free-form structures.
