2. Computer Aided design

During this week, I acquired knowledge on designing using various software programs, defined my final project idea, and started getting accustomed to the documentation process.

Deferent between vector and raster

Vectors are made up of lines and shapes, while rasters are made up of individual pixels.

Deferent Software’s

|| Autodesk Inventor

Autodesk Inventor is a powerful computer-aided design software used for 3D mechanical design, simulation, visualization, and documentation. It provides tools for product design and engineering, including modeling, assembly design, and finite element analysis.

|| Autodesk Fusion360

In my opinion, Autodesk Fusion 360 is similar to Inventor, but with a more beginner-friendly interface. I attempted to import our part into the software and the process proceeded smoothly.

Download

|| vectr

Free vector graphics editor. A simple yet powerful web and desktop cross-platform tool for everyone.

|| Photoshop

Is a software for image editing and manipulation, utilized for graphic design, photography, and digital art. It’s not easy to master it -_-

Random question

How to add measurements such as length and angles?

It can added automatic by tools in drawing side in Inventor

What is mean by extrude and revolve, and why to use?

  • Extrude: Extending 2D shape into 3D.
  • Revolve: Rotating 2D shape to create symmetrical 3D object.

Used for creating solid objects in Autodesk Inventor.

Why the design is smooth at edges? and how to use?

It called Fillet and am using because if the design is smooth at edge the 3D printer can print without adding support. To use it you can added by fillet tools and choose the radius needed.

What format did export the files and why?

To save it in My Computer I save it in .ipt format and to print it I save it in .stl .

What is the pros and cons between the software’s in my opinion?

  • Fusion 360 User-friendly interface but it limited advance features.
  • Inventor more professional and good for force analysis also but it more complex to learn

am prefer Inventor because am familiar with it and I can also drive the project easy :)
