Week01

Create the project’s website

These steps will help in creating the project’s website: 1- Create a Tamkeen account if you do not currently have one, here: https://services.tamkeen.bh/NeoTamkeenPortal/Registration

2- Create a fablabs.io account here: https://www.fablabs.io/signup

3- Link the fablabs.io account to our gitlab cloud by going to this page and selecting “sign in with Fablabs” button to authorize the connection: https://gitlab.fabcloud.org/users/sign_in

  • If your laptop runs windows, please download and install git bash via this link: https://git-scm.com/downloads. Use all the default settings. If you are using MacOS or Linux, you can ignore this step

4- After you complete the registration in the previous steps and opened your fablab account you’ll need to go on the side bar on the left and click “build” then “pipelines” then click on “Run pipline” in the blue box as shown in the image.

You will be transfared to another page where you will click on “Run pipline” in the blue box.

  • You can now check your website by going to the side bar then click on “Deploy” then “pages” as shown.

Uploading pictures to the website

To upload a picture you need save it in FabCloud using these steps:

1- choose your picture (preferred less than 1mb) if it’s more than 1mb you can always resize it using any app or online website.

2- click on your profile in the left side bar then click on “docs”

Then “images”

Then the required file (for example week01).

3- click on the “plus sign” then choose “Upload file” option as shown.

4- Upload the picture or drag it manually to the box.

  • To upload the picture to the website:

Use !{](../) in the index code then put the location then the name of the picture after the “/” sign. (For example)

Editing the script in the website

To put your preferred information to the default template of the website you need to:

1- Click on your profile in the left side bar then click on “docs”

Then “about” file

Then “index.md”

2- Click on the “edit” button in the blue box then select “edit signle file” option

3- Subtitute the default information in the code index with your information.
