About me

Hi! I’m Abdulla I am participant in Fab Lab Academy

My Background

I was born in Kingdom of Bahrain. My whole life I lived in Riffa were it names means it the highest city in term of the sea level in relative to other cities in my country. Thankfully my childhood was fill of happiness and joy were I have many cousins in my age group. Since childhood I have intrest in making money and having fun at the same time. Morover, One of the usual things I do is to gather my cousins evey weekend and charge them for a movie night were it merly cost me a 70% of the total money.

As a person I like to take steps towards the unknown following my passion, dream and future career. It is a passion of mine to create something creative one day and sell in international market weither it is in form of fabrication, industrial and food buisness. Since I was 10 years old whenever I went visiting my grandmother I like to see her cook our traditional food for breakfast and lunch. I knew few seceret recipes of hers and it been a stable thing in my life since. Food is an art were you can express yourself freely because taste is contrivartial there is many diversity and cultural and emotional perspective to it. Such a way of passion if can be turned to a buisness and learning the exact righttool such as, project managment skills and financial intillegince will enable me to reach my dream horizans. Having the chance to participate in Fablab internship is a pleasure of mine will help me to gain the previous skill mentioned and let me regain my childhood imagination to be more creative and joyful again.

Previous work

I worked before as intern in Bapco and At the Department of Mechanical Operation and Maintenance Of Esmaely Lenzohm Electrical Co WLL. I gained experience in feild and office work were I learned new skills in both sectors.

Pipe Welding

Arc welding is a welding process that uses the heat generated by an electrical arc as the heat source. In this process, positive voltage is applied to the electrode and negative voltage to the base material, creating an arc between them.

Monorail Crane Erection

Using Inventor to design the engineering team were able to design a monorail or sliding crane that have 1.2 tons lifting capacity for their project. Through supervision is needed to fabricate the monorail keep in mind certain measurements, tolerances, cost and time. The fabrication of the monorail is a time consuming processes were different machinery processes were used for varies component that need to be cut and shaped into certain way such as milling, drilling and welding. After have all of our project component we went to the site and start assembling the project by using civil engineering knowledge such as surveying and static concepts.

Motor Winding Inspection

To check the performance of electric motor first we check if bearing are well conditioned because they should be changed from time to time due to the high friction, vibration and environmental effect (oxidation). Inspect the windings for wear and tear, but more importantly, you need to analyze their resistance. Multimeter must be used to see if they need to be replaced or not. According to the resistivity of the wire were it should be between 0.3 and 2 ohms, if it equal to zero that means shortage in phases which lead to wire breakage if it greater than 2 it means there a broken wire.

Roof Structure Installation

Truss is a very important structural components that can be found in constructional project so we must inspect it to ensure safe use and long component life. If a company bout a new trust or even used initial inspection for any damage must take place. Frequent inspection through visualization conducted before and after use to detect any failure in the truss such as wear or deformations. Fabrication of a truss is an accurate processes that have different components that need to be measured and arranged according to specific measurement and structure to gain support by having tension and compression working together diagonally. Therefore, before fabrication a simulator program can be used to measure the load that can be carried by the truss and measurement with tolerance to make it realistic. Moreover, to ensure that virtual truss come to live Truss fabrication supervision is a must.

Inspection devices

Elcometer, TFT meter and slide caliber The Elcometer is a device used to measure coating thickness with high accuracy, reliablelity and repeatable coating thickness measurements on almost any substrate, whether ferrous or non ferrous. TFT meter is a device used in construction to measure the distance between two point using laser were the device point out a laser and calculate the distance which can be clearly shown in the screen installed.Slide caliber AKA Vernier caliber is a device usually used to measure the distance between two points on a flat surface, such as thickness and diameter. Modern technology can be used to give more accurate result such as using digital sliding caliber.

Bill of Quantity

Mixed concept of engineering management and economic were it can help you manage the project better and save money before, during and after construction. BOQ is built from using the documentation and drawing to give it to a contractor if it complete it called fixed, if some items are missing it approximate. First, tendering stage is to make a list of items helping to omit human error, guarantee that all necessary quantities have been priced and allow a direct comparison to be made between different contractors, identifies front loading of cost by a contractor, and put client in a stronger position to negotiate were it increase the transparency. Second, during construction BOQ help us to identify the pricing variations, reduce possibility of exploitation on additional works, easily identify and calculate cost saving on a project and assessing contractors application for payment. Third, post construction benefits are mainly regarding management, life cycle estimates and final accounting.

Project Managment

Having a road map to your project and organized task need to be clearly illustrated and followed is a must to successes.

Senior Project

Water scarcity is still one of the most significant challenges confronted by the world which is mostly felt in hot areas where there are minimal fresh water. The studied solution design primary function consists of recycling hot water whilst keeping a separate insulated tank of cool and refreshing potable water for household use purposes. This study involved engineering analysis such as gross heat transfer calculations and modeling the system to an even higher level of detail to improve performance and efficiency. This work involved the following stages: system design concept, theoretical calculations, and implementation aspects. A larger part of the research consisted of preparation of precise application schematics and thermal analysis to confirm qualitative functions at the system level vs. Mass equations shown in this work outlined good potential water savings, •〜 9% under high-temperature conditions as confirmed by a rigorous mathematical modeling with experimental calculation support. The social assessment included a community engagement component using standardized questionnaires to evaluate the public awareness on water scarcity problems, and willingness to accept the proposed technological solutions as part of the market potential of each option simulated in this study. To evaluate economic viability, a complete cost analysis was performed that included an assessment of near-term upfront costs as well as long-term operational benefits. The system was then evaluated both in terms of its practical usefulness and the demand for such a system among homeowners to determine how it may affect household water-saving behavior. These results indicate that this recirculating water system is a technically viable and economically sustainable option for mitigating household water wastage, particularly in areas where water scarcity and high temperatures are prevalent. This provides more information in the directions of sustainable water management solutions, and serves as a useful platform for future research on household-scale water conservation technologies.
