Week 08: Moulding and casting

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Group Assignment

In the group task, we divided into teams, and each team was assigned to explore and research the type of material they had. I took soap, learned the steps for making it, the safety measures needed, and the time required for it to be made and dried. Visit our Group Website to see more.

Steps

↪ Software Settings

I worked with Abdullah in this part.

↝ Tinkercad

Imported our designs.

We used Tinkercad to align our designs perfectly.

And this was our final design.

Just export it as .stl.

↝ Machine Settings

Now using the machine settings, we have to follow these 5 steps.

Of course, after importing the file we exported from Tinkercad.

We need to define the original point, which is in the middle of the wax for x/y.

Same steps for z axis, with additional steps to protect the pin.

Then we saw an issue with Ammar and Mohammed in surfacing so we did these steps to protect our mold.
