8. Moulding and casting

During Moulding and Casting week, I found the process straightforward. We began by adhering to essential safety protocols such as cleaning surfaces and wearing protective plastic aprons and suitable attire. My project involved crafting two miniature fish to match the dimensions of the SRM-20. Using the moulding machine, we created a mould for the fish, adjusting the surface finish to achieve a wavy curved pattern along with a block workpiece.

To establish the coordinate system for precise positioning, we utilized a Altium-coated Microgram. Following this, I mixed silicon in precise ratios and allowed it to cure, forming a resin cast. I embellished the casts with sprinkles of colored and metallic stones, then affixed them to an acrylic keychain. This marked the completion of the project.
