Heyyo! My name is Salma Shaikho, and I’m a 22-year-old Bahraini Architectural Engineering student at the Royal University for Women in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In addition to my studies, I am actively involved in 9 different programs outside the university.

My background

I have lived in different countries and experienced diverse cultures, which has greatly expanded my perspective. Through organizations like Global Shapers and INJAZ Bahrain, I have actively contributed and made a positive impact. Engaging with the community through my involvement in Bahrain TV’s Media Awards and Radio Bahrain has been incredibly rewarding.

As a senior architecture student, I have become skilled in using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Revit, SketchUp, and Lumion. Alongside my studies, I actively participate in university clubs and have developed my leadership skills, including serving as the President of the Student Council. Additionally, I am an accomplished painter, using art as a way to express my creativity and emotions.

I am thrilled at the opportunity to represent Bahrain in Toastmasters, as it allows me to connect with fellow communication enthusiasts. With my diverse background and genuine passion for effective communication, I am excited to pursue future endeavors in architecture and beyond. I am ready to make a difference and contribute in meaningful ways, drawing from my experiences and commitment to personal growth.

Previous work

I have had the opportunity to design a wide range of buildings, including villas, supermarkets, malls, hotels, skyscrapers, hospitals, and even an equestrian center. These diverse projects have allowed me to gain valuable experience and develop a versatile skill set in architecture. Additionally, I had the privilege of completing an internship at MSCEB, which further enhanced my understanding of the industry and provided hands-on experience in a professional setting.
