Concept Overview: My final project is an innovative board game that draws inspiration from various beloved games such as Chess, Dark Souls, Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), and Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (TCG). The game combines strategic elements with interactive technology to create an engaging and immersive experience.
Game Board: The board will feature a grid pattern reminiscent of a chessboard, where each square is equipped with RGB LED lights. These lights will illuminate to indicate player positions and attack patterns, adding a dynamic visual element to the gameplay.
Map Design: The design of the board will incorporate specific locations that reflect a thematic map layout, enhancing the game's narrative and strategic depth.
Duel Field: Each player will have a dedicated duel field that displays their health bar and current location on the map. This field will also feature slots for players to place their action cards, allowing for strategic planning and execution of moves.
Control Mechanisms: Players will use a joystick to navigate their characters' movements and execute attacks, promoting an interactive and tactile gameplay experience.
Display Screen: A screen will be integrated to display turn information and player actions, ensuring clarity and enhancing the game flow.
3D Printed Figures: Each player will control a unique character represented by a custom 3D printed figure. This personalization adds depth to the game and allows players to feel more connected to their characters during battles.
This project aims to merge traditional board gaming with modern technology, creating a fun and engaging experience that appeals to fans of strategy, role-playing, and trading card games. Through this project, I hope to explore the intersection of design, technology, and gameplay mechanics, resulting in a unique gaming experience.
