3. Computer controlled cutting¶
This week I worked on Computer controlled cutting using vinyl cutter
WHAT TO DO¶
you can use cricut design space or silhouette studio
for me i used silhouette studio
1-download silhouette studio from this website silhouette studio download
2- go to silhouette from this link silhouette
and choose any design you want
for me i choose this image
3- download the image that you choose
4-open your image by going to file then open
5- tracing the shape before cutting it using machine
6- connect the laptop with the smart cutting machine using usb wire
7- i am using this matireal but with different color (blue)

Laser Machine Cutting¶
1- After calibrating the Laser Cutting Machine with the group, I started designing a model in Fusion 360
2- i save the width and length in parameter to apply the change in all spaces i want, i do this by going to modify then change parameter
Add a joint length and width parameters:
Joint_width = 2.5 mm
Joint_Length = 10 mm
parameters table¶
I will explain how to creat table of parameters
STEP1: go to modify then press change parameter
STEP2: 1-press the + to add as many parameter as you want
2- i choose the tolerence to be 2.5mm for each fitting in each pieces to be press fit design so when i press all the pieces to gether it will fit good
final result¶
after finishing with laser machine i have assembled my design with the press-fit joints
as shown in the picture our clearance (2.5mm) was perfect
