8. Moulding and casting¶
This week I worked on molding & casting my own design. Knowing more about the process

Safety for gypsum:
1-Do not breathe dust or mists.
2-Do not eat, drink or smoke while manually handling this product.
3-Wash skin thoroughly after manually handling
4-usage of personal protective equipment: eye protection(glass) and gloves
Avoid:
Excessive Inhaling Ingestion Eye contact
Safety for sillicon:
Don’t ingest, inject and absorb silicone in your body.

how i do my design¶
1- i draw a 2D rectangle with 60mm length and 30mm width
2- i extrude the rectangle by 8mm
3- i choose from google what i want to draw on the rectangle and download the images that i choose
4- i go to convertio website to convert the image from jpg to svg and then download the svg one

5- i go to insert then to insert svg and put my design
6- i put my design above the board that i maked and manage the dimentions of it
7- i draw a circule on the board
8- i extrude all the design

machine process¶
STEP1:First i Opened my file in SPR Player
STEP2:Here i selected Type of milling and i choose setting that give me a better surface finish
STEP3:Here i used the tool path for the machining and tool size used
STEP4:Here i did preview of the work and it was good
STEP5:Here i started the cutting and you can see the estimated finish time
the process¶
STEP1:First we created our mould using the machine we have in fablab by putting the plate inside the machine and the drill bit on the center of the plate
STEP2: After the moild was ready first thing we did was submerge the mould with water to make sure how much of liquid needed to fill the mould
STEP3:After we get arround 55.4g of water, we decided to fill the mould with 60g of silicon 30 of component A and 30 of B
STEP4:After that we mixed both of them
STEP5:Finally we poured the mix in the mould
STEP6: we mix the material that we want to make the design from it in a cup
not that the mixing ratio is 10g/6g resin/ardener for me i use 20/12 because i have two design
i add the green color to my mixture
STEP7:we poured the mix in the mould
