Final Project¶
Microfluidic Chip¶
-
Microfluidics is considered as the science that studies the behavior and the properties of the fluid that flow through the micro channels. and also the technology of manufacturing the micro devices where these devices contain chambers and tunnels through which fluids flow. The microfluidics deal with very small volume of fluids and this allows and helps to do the controlling and manipulating the fluid
-
First, we tested the different materials using the vinyl cutter as shown in the group project
-
Then, we tested the 3D printer as shown in this section of the project page.
-
i worked on designing the chip using fusion360, all the details are shown in this section
-
after testing the design with the vinylcutter we concluded that the minimum limit to cut the channels using the vinylcutter is 0.5mm. therefore, our design included a 0.5mm channels and 3mm for the inputs and output holes
- this microfludic chip is a mixer, it takes around 5 minutes to mix and reach the output

12V DC Pump¶
-
i worked with my colleague on testing the pump with different throttle settings, the videos of the testing are shown here
-
and the results are; for 10 seconds setting the limit for the throttle was 0.5 , where at 0.4 the suction doesnt work
-
i designed the small piece that goes inside the case and work as a stand for the electric chips and the pump as shown in the steps here
-
and i also helped with bending the edges of the design as shown in the pictures below and for more details click here
