3. Computer controlled cutting

This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.

Lasercutting

For the individual assignment, I used Fusion 360 to create different parametric designs that can be attached in different ways to create various versions of a sculptural object.

I created three different versions of a shape to attach them in different ways to create a sculptural object. Below you’ll see a triangle and two versions of a square.

Square: Starting by drawing out the shape in 2D, I started by drawing the square then adding a slit on one end. Then using the parametric tool on Fusion 360, I was able to automtically have all slits equally on all edges. I then erased all the extra lines to get a clean shape.

I then used the same technique to design the triangle. Using the same dimensions used in thr group assignement. The slits slid perfectly into one another after lasercutting.
