Idea Generation
Our definiton of an ideal idea
Before discussing or deciding which idea to make for the final project, we first discussed what would make an idea, a great idea:
- The idea to be unique and creative
- The idea to have the WOOW effect
- The machine to be easily re-created if wanted
- The machine to be explanatory / easily explained
After coming up with these conditions, it is time for the group to discuss and present ideas that suits these conditions.
Possible Ideas
Every group member has thought individually of project ideas to discuss with the group in a meeting later. In the meeting, the group members have discussed the ideas and helped improve the good ideas and critisied the bad ones, eventually, the group ended with several good idea including:
- Qassim's idea: The recycling trash can
- Weaam's idea: The educational game for kids
- Talal's idea: Foam Cutting Machine
- Sayed's idea: Automatic Pizza Maker
Final Idea
The group first was about to go with the pizza maker machine; however, the scope of this project was too big to be finished in two weeks, and it is unlikely that we will have the tools and skills we need to finish it in time.
Therefore, the idea has changed from an automatic pizza maker into a pizza customiser.
The idea behind the project is:
- A CNC machine that would customize the Pizza dough by printing it in 2 dimensions.
- Any shape can be printed from letters to emojis or images as long as it is programmed beforehand in the software.
- The process of the machine shall be fully automated, meaning that as long as the user has started the machine, he is not required to take any further actions.
