Container and Pizza Dough

In this stage

There are two things that need to be done in this stage

  1. Find a place were we can store the pizza dough in (Container).
  2. Find a way to control how and when the pizza dough shall be printed from the container.

Find a pizza dough container:

As for the first part, finding a container to store the pizza dough, we instantly had the idea of using ketchup containers (as in the image below) as it was convenient and afforadable choice. Therefore, we went to the nearest kitchen equipments and purchased one for around US$ 1.

Printing Pizza Dough

This also consists of two parts:

  • The When (how to control or program when the pizza dough will be printed).
  • The How (how the pizza dough will be printing).
As for the "When" part, it will be addressed later as it is associated with the relay, and this part will focus solely on the "How" part.

Initial Idea

The initial idea was to make a pump that will that will force the pizza dough to move out of the container. And as we were working on the pump, we figured that it was not practical, as it didnt manage move the pizza dough out of the container, in addition to the fact that the pump we made was absolutely not safe as it crushed many figures. Therefore, the group decided to dismiss their plan.

Images of the old pump that was dismissed.

Alternatively, we decided to buy an air pump as it would be more practical and will provide the speed and smoothness needed for the printing process.
Therefore, from the Fish Pet Store, we bought:

  • Air Pump for around US$ 8.
  • A tube for around US$ 1.

Put it in test

And the big reveal

As you can see, the pump worked perfectly from the first try since the pizza dough dropped immediately after we turned on the air pump. Therefore, turining the air pump on and off will allow us to control when the pizza dough is printed.
