This entry will document my impact in terms of both the targets that I aimed to focus on!
• By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse
I was able to recycle the following recyclable plastics in the following approximate amounts:
PET – 1kg
PP – 1kg
HDPE – 500g
Online sources were referred to estimate how much CO2 per kg is saved by recycling a kg of different types of plastics:
PET – 1kg of CO2
PP – 0.6kg of CO2
HDPE – 0.5kg of CO2
(1*1)+(1*0.6)+(0.5*0.24)
Amount of CO2 saved=1.72 kg in the span of 4 weeks
• By 2030, ensure that people everywhere have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature
Through the workshop I was able to reach around 10 people who are now aware of the sustainable development and how to recycle and reduce on an individual level.
