In order to spread awareness on plastic pollution and sustainable development goals, I conducted a workshop at FabLab Bahrain.
The 2-hour workshop was divided into theoretical and practical parts.
For the theoretical part, I gave a presentation on the sustainable development goals, plastic pollution and some basic technical knowledge on plastic types, safety precautions and the possibilities of plastic waste.
For the practical part we made keychains out of plastic waste. Firstly, we demonstrated how to melt and make sheets out of shredded plastic and then how to use a computer controlled cutting machine to cut the designs out of the sheet and finally assembled with keychains for practical use!
Therefore, through the workshop people were made aware of the importance of sustainability, issue of plastic pollution and how to practically help reduce it on an individual level.
