Literature Review

A brief literature review was conducted before advancing to the design and fabrication part. Different fabrication technologies were inspected for the construction of the microfluidics chip based on the availability of the method and the advantages exhibited by the method. The CO2 laser cutter and the CNC milling machine were proposed. For the material of the microfluidics chip, polymethylmethacrylate (i.e. PMMA) was chosen due to its compatibility with our application and its availability. 3DuF was found to be a very useful website to design the microfluidics chip. Different dimensions were utilized to test the respective machines consistency.
