2. Computer Aided design¶
This week I worked on several 2D and 3D design software such as cuttle, tinkercad, Inkscape and Fusion 360.
Research¶
For 2D design software I have explored the following programs: 1-Cuttle Cuttle is a cool website to create and manipulate basic shapes and combine them. Click Here to use cuttle
Here are some trials when I explored the website
Steps of doing a ring shape
Ring Shape -Click Here
To use the built in shapes, simply drag them and freely manipulate the size and location by mouse
To facilitate the work extract the shape that you want to reuse it as a component
You can change the color of your components
To add text, drag it same as other components
2-Inkscape
Inkscape is a 2d software design
For 3D design software I have explored the following programs:
3-TinkerCAD
TinkerCAD is an easy to use website to create and manipulate basic shapes and combine them.
Here is my previous trial when I explored the website, it is a system of valves and pipes.
Steps of doing a cake shape
You can add hole in your shape
You can draw and write by mouse
Final result
There is a nice feature that you can made your design as bricks
4-Fusion360
and PCB software platform for product design and manufacturing. Design and engineer products to ensure aesthetics, form, fit, and function.
I have done a bag design to explore the program
We can drag the built in components and fix the size and location as well as we can rotate the component
We have to check all the direction to ensure the desired location
We can combine 2 or more components to be one component
We can see our steps line on the botton

Evaluation¶
Fusion360 is the best application to deal with. Since you can make 2D & 3D designs and it has plenty of tools. Wile TinkerCad is super straight for the simple designs.
