2. Computer Aided design.

This week CAD (Computer Aided design) and its various ideas and capabilities were explained to us.we started working on Computer Aided design which helped us a lot in understanding and creating Different type of designs.

What Is Computer Aided design?

The purpose of CAD is to optimize and streamline the designer’s workflow, increase productivity, improve the quality and level of detail in the design, improve documentation communications and often contribute toward a manufacturing design database. CAD software outputs come in the form of electronic files, which are then used accordingly for manufacturing processes.CAD is often used in tandem with digitized manufacturing processes. CAD (computer-aided design) is software used to design products such as electronic circuit boards in computers and other devices.

Who uses Computer Aided design(CAD)?

Computer-aided design is used in a wide variety of professions. CAD software is used heavily within various architecture, arts and engineering projects. CAD use cases are specific to industry and job functions. Professions that use CAD tools include, but are not limited to Architects Engineers,City planners,Graphic designers etc.

Benefits.

Compared to traditional technical sketching and manual drafting, the use of CAD design tools can have significant benefits for engineers and designers. Its Lower production costs for designs.Changes can be made independent of other design details, without the need to completely re-do a sketch and Software features can support generative design, solid modeling, and other technical functions.

Computer aided design (CAD) softwares.

A number of CAD tools exist to assist designers and engineers. Some CAD tools are tailored to fit specific use cases and industries, such as industrial design or architecture. Other CAD software tools can be used to support a variety of industries and project types.

Autodesk Tinkercad.

Tinkercad is a free-of-charge, online 3D modeling program that runs in a web browser. Since it became available in 2011 it has become a popular platform for creating models for 3D printing as well as an entry-level introduction to constructive solid geometry in schools.

How We get started with Tinkercad?

After we start working we got a link Tinkercad in which we created our ID and we logged in as shown in pictures below

The Main Page.

After creating our ID and Getting Logged In we enter in the main interface where we can see multiple options like 3D Designs, Cricuits, codebloks on the left side of interface as shown in Picture below.

After we were introduced to 3D Designs i start working on it and i choose a rendom object like a cartoon car and i start working on it after two to three hours finally i creat a cartoon car.

Fusion 360.

This week we also started working on Fusion 360.

What Is Fusion 360?

Fusion 360 is a CAD tool by industry giant Autodesk, a company that needs no introduction. From the creators of industry-standard tools like AutoCAD and Inventor comes a new class of modeling software aimed at hobbyists: Fusion 360.This is a tool that’s become massively popular in the hobbyist 3D printing community, so you’ve probably heard of it at least in passing. But what exactly is Fusion 360? With this article, we seek to answer that question. After briefly touching on application areas and pricing, we’ll launch into what Fusion 360 is capable of, covering all of its primary workspaces.

How we get Started?

After we were explained we started working on fusion 360 by going to website Fusion 360. After entering we started creating a personal ID to download Fusion 360 and start working on it. The Following Steps are shown in pictures below.

After clicking on Download free trial new window appears where we select the purose as Education and then we click continue where next steps start to create a personal account to Download fusion 360.

After Providing the information for creating a personal ID we click on next and then SIGN IN and our software (Fusion 360) starts downloading in to our system. As we can see in the picture below.

After finishing the download and installing software into our system we start working by entering the same ID we have created during Download. After opening the ID in Fusion 360 one of our suppervisor explained us the main interface and functions and also thought us how to create any object or a body.

What did I creat?

After we were explained i started working on fusion 360 i choose a random object which was a toy block. After applying 2D and 3D functions and editing my project with different functions i came up with final shape of toy Block which is shown in picture below.

After creating toy block i start on another project which was the shape of a table and i came up with the shape of a table which is shown in picture below.

Sketchfab.

This week we were also explained and got the idea of sketchfab.One of our suppervisor provided as a link. and we created a personal ID giving our info and we start working on it.

What is Sketchfab?

Sketchfab is a 3D modeling platform website to publish, share, discover, buy and sell 3D, VR and AR content. It provides a viewer based on the WebGL and WebXR technologies that allows users to display 3D models on the web, to be viewed on any mobile browser, desktop browser or Virtual Reality headset.

After completing my 3D object on fusion 360 i uploaded my work on sketchfab by following some steps the first step was creating id.Second was going to main interface and clicking on upload option which located on the right top of the page and uploading our object in sketchfab.

After clicking on the upload we nevigate to our system and choose the file which we downloaded from fusion 360 and then we click upload button and our object will upload successfully. The method we can see in picture below.

After following the steps now we can see our work on fabsketch website.

Remarks on 3D Softwares.

I had no idea about 3D software before joining the progiraam once lot of software ware explianed to us i got the idea and i became friendly with 3D software and we worked on tinkercad and fusion 360 and acording to my experiance i will prefer the fusion 360 which has so many functions and options for designing 3D designs and its also user friendly.

2D Drawings.

This week we also started working on 2D drawings after we were explained by our suppervisor.

What is called 2D drawing?

In the past, 2D drawings were done using a pencil, paper and a ruler. Today, there are a number of software that allow the user to create 2D drawings in CAD format. 2D drawing is a geometric figure that is created by two-dimensional lines called vectors.

Which software i Worked on to Make 2D Drawings?

After we were explained on many softwares and online tools for 2D design i start working on the first software which is Vectr. Vectr is a online tool and its totally free for every one. The second software i start working on was Inkscape where i downloaded the software in my system and started working on it.

I started creating a 2D image using Vectr which is online tool and totally free. Vecter is a simple website and easy to use. I created a landscape picture and the final reasult is shown in picture below.

Inkscape.

Inkscape is a free and open-source vector graphics editor used to create vector images, primarily in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format.My second work was on inkscape after Downloading and installing inkscape i sarted to creating a logo desing using different functions provided in inkscape and finally i created a logo design as we can see in pictiur shown below.

Remarks on 2D Softwares.

Using 2D software and creating images was a fun and knowladgable experiance and i learned a lot of new things using these softwares. According to my point of view inkscape is good software to creating image or a logo because it has many functions and also it is user friendly software.
